Thank You!

Dear Residents of Lincoln, Sudbury, and Wayland:

Thank you for your support of my campaign for state representative.  I am honored and humbled by the confidence you have placed in me as your next representative in the State House.

Many of you volunteered and contributed to help us achieve a 51% to 49% victory.  This election was so close that every vote mattered, every lawn sign, every letter to the editor, every endorsement by word-of-mouth or email, every dollar you contributed made a positive difference.  I am so grateful to so many of you who helped.  Thank you.

I am also grateful to Susan Pope.  She not only ran an honorable campaign, but more importantly, she has served our towns and communities with grace, dedication, and responsiveness.  I applaud her for her devotion and service:  ten years as state representative, ten years as a selectman in Wayland, and ten years as a Wayland school committee member.  Thank you, Sue, for your years of service and contributions to our towns

This election has never been about me, it’s always been about you, the citizens of Lincoln, Sudbury, and Wayland.  By voting, and participating in the elective process, by volunteering your time and efforts, you contributed to a better future for our towns and communities.  Please know that I want to represent all the people of the district, not only those who voted for me.  I respect the opinions of those who do not share my positions, but I hope that by getting to know you better, we can find common ground on principles of good government that we all share.

I am excited about the opportunity to serve our towns and communities.  I will be accessible and available to you because I want to continue the dialogue we started during the campaign at your door-steps.  I am committed to understanding and appreciating your concerns, your interests, and your day-to-day challenges.  Equally important are your ideas about addressing the issues we continue to face as towns regarding our schools, our environment, our growth and development, and our property taxes.  I want to work closely with you create solutions to these challenges.  That’s the real work that starts now, and I look forward to it.

I am exploring ways to have regularly scheduled meetings with you in the district, where we can have open discussions.  I will be posting times and locations shortly on the campaign website, www.tomconroy.org.  In the meantime, please feel free to email me at tom@tomconroy.org or Matt Harutunian at matt@tomconroy.org.

So thank you again for your dedication to our towns and communities, and making them better.  It was an honor to be your candidate.  It will be my privilege to serve you as your state representative.

Cheers,
Tom
